You will make your own news bulletin. By doing this, you wil strengthen your speaking and presenting skills. You will also work on your writing skills and your creative skills, because you will have to make it interesting.

Work in duos and make sure you both get equal "air time".

Step 1:

Choose your setting. What is your news channel about? Are you a channel about cooking news, Hungarian news, good news, sea news? etc. Choose something you are passionate about or want to find out more about. This way you can make the assignment more interesting for yourself.

Step 2:

Choose the topic(s) for your item(s): you can either choose 2 short items or 1 longe item, make sure the items fit with your channel.

Step 3:

Gather information. Find all the information you need to make this item a succes.

Step 4:

Start writing. Make sure you follow a news outline:

introduction
report (interview, statistics, opinion, personal story, live at event)
rounding off
- your language should be (semi-) formal

- use descriptive language

- don't just state the facts, make it interesting

step 5:

Present and record your news item. Use props etc. if you need to.

Step 6:

Edit your video where needed.

Step 7:

hand in. You will probably have to hand it in through WeTransfer

Rounding off
Goals:
- Become aware of news in your professional field.
- Being able to present in a semi formal setting.
