Lesson objectives

You will..

• discuss and evaluate a dilemma in which agape is applied.
• create a rule to avoid a certain dilemma
• understand the key ideas of Kantian ethics
• be able to explain the difference between categorical and hypothetical imperative
• analyse and evaluate Kantian ethics

Cases round 1

Each group has a case, discuss the following questions:

1. What is the most loving thing to do given the situation?
2. what works in practice?
3. place the good of people in the centre rather than obeying the rules.

To avoid dilemma's like this:

1. What rule should we create before hand?
2. Why this rule?
3. can we make this an universal rule?
4. How do we treat people with dignity and respect with this rule?
