Topic

Every text has a subject. The general subject - or topic - of a text is what the text is about.

Usually, the topic of a text can be described in a few words or in a short phrase. A topic is never too general nor too specific. The right topic fits the text perfectly.

Main idea 

Once you know what the topic of a text is, you can determine what the main idea is. The main idea of a text is not always the same as the topic of a text, but can be what the author says, thinks, or wants to communicate about the topic.

Creative online content 

You'll write English content for your music-video's website. Your text creatively addresses the question: 'What's the idea?' and will explain the song's topics and possible themes.

 

Feel free to write what you want (keep it nice) but mind your English present/past/future tenses at A2 level minimum. (TB). 

Your text is +/- 200 words. 

Deadline:  January 24th in Teams

How do I find the theme?

Look for topics first. Is the author talking about love, bravery, adventure etc.?

When looking for a theme, ask yourself:

"What is the author trying to teach us or show us through their writing?"
