I know strategies that I can use for watching in English. 

I can understand an old listening/watching exam. 

Which strategies can you use for the watching part of watching/listening exam?

• underline the important words in the answers that indicate what the answer is really about. 
• If you doubt between two answers: ask yourself which answer was mostly present in the fragment? What is it really about and which aspects were less relevant. 
• look for synonyms. Sometimes a synonym of a word in the answers is used in the fragment  

How to practice? 

• Practice listening at B2/C1 level in Holmwoods
• Practice listening/watching in Woots. You can also practice at skilllevel 1-3
• Watch a lot of Netflix series like: The Crown (without subtitles or with English subtitles), Planet Earth. 

How to practice? 

• Watch BBC News, Al Jazeera, CNN 
• Listen to BBC radio/ a podcast on Spotify ( The Daily - The New York Times) / luisterboeken (Audible, Storytel, Nextory) -> Sherlock Holmes series, Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts series, Jane Austen books  or anything else you find interesting

Kijk/luisteren SE 2024

De kijk/luistertoets (SE) wordt pas na de toetsweek afgenomen rond 26 januari. 

Nieuw dit jaar zijn: 

- selectief luisteren: je krijgt een fragment van 2/3 minuten en moet dan meerdere vragen hierbij beantwoorden. De fragmenten worden 2 keer afgespeeld. We gaan hier nog mee oefenen volgende week. 

- globaal kijken: je krijgt eerst een fragment te zien en dan pas ga je er vragen over beantwoorden.
