WH- questions

WH-questions

- Where = place (waar)

- When = time (wanneer)

- Why = reason (waarom)

- How = manner in which something happened (hoe)

- Who = persons (wie)

- Whose = you ask who owns something (van wie)

- What = all answers are possible (wat/welke)

- Which=  make a choice, you have two options (welke)

Examples

Who was the presenter of the show?                                    Why did you like this book so much?

What did you do yesterday?                                                       Where did you buy the tickets?

When was Temptation Island on TV?                                     How did you make this?

Which book do you like best? 1984 or I, Robot?                 What book do you like best?

!! Which and what can mean the same. But "WHICH" is used when asking for options !!

How do I make a question again?

- You put the wh-question and the beginning of your sentence

For example: Who is going to that party on Saturday?

_____ about a walk through the forest?

____ are we going for a holiday by the sea again?

_______ is the dog's bone?

_____ is my red sweat shirt, Mum?

The check was for $5.50. (how much)

She felt sad because she didn't bring her dictionary yesterday. (why)

He studies piano at the university. (what)

Their favourite music is Latin Jazz. (what)

My sister called her boyfriend yesterday. (who)
