What is the difference of the word cat in these sentences?
- The cat's dinner is in the fridge
- The cats are eating their dinner

Possessives

• We use the possessive when we want to indicate that something belongs to someone or something. 
• To make the possessive we use 's after the noun.

• The cat's dinner is in the fridge
  - The dinner belongs to the cat.
