Slide 1 - Diapositive

In this lesson, Ss watch a video of interviews with people on the street about things that are important to them. They begin by talking about what’s important to people they know, before they watch the interviews and complete a set of viewing tasks. There’s a focus on phrasal verbs, before Ss discuss what’s important to them and then write an online forum comment.

Phrasal verb mime!

ESL Phrasal Verb Game.
Here is an amusing phrasal verbs miming game to help students practice some commonly used phrasal verbs. A member of Team A picks up a card, stands up and reads out the introduction on the card which explains what information the other students are looking for, e.g. 'You are looking for a place and two phrasal verbs'. The student then performs the mime on the card to Team B who has two minutes to guess the information they are looking for. If Team B successfully guesses all the vocabulary, they score two points. If not, the other student in Team A can try to answer for one point. Then, a student from Team B picks up a card to mime to Team A and so on. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
