Active:
The dog chased the ball. 

Passive:
The ball was chased by the dog.

What makes a sentence passive?
The combination of 'to be' + past participle (volt. dlw) makes a sentence passive
The dog bit the woman
The woman is bitten (by the dog).
The doctor stitched the wound.
The wound was stitched (by the doctor).
