Talking about the future
When you've planned something, you can use
 1. is /am/are + going to + verb
Luther is going to watch "the Mole" this Saturday
ALTERNATIVE: use
 2. is/am/are  + verb +-ING (a.k.a. present continuous)
We are moving to Barbados next week
Difference: no. 1 is an intention, no. 2 is definitely happening

Talking about the future
When you are referring to something in the future on a schedule, use Present Simple!
The lesson starts at 8.30

Use 'will'. 

Unless it is a question with I or WE in it
Then use 'shall'
