The past simple
Let op:

Als de stam eindigt op een "-e", alleen "-d" toevoegen.
love > loved
Medeklinker verdubbelt soms i.v.m. uitspraak.
stop > stopped
"Y" na medeklinker wordt "ie".
try > tried

Slide 10 - Diapositive

The past simple
Irregular verbs (onregelmatige ww):
There is no rule for these kinds of verbs.
You have to learn them.

For example:
He ate all the food yesterday.

Slide 11 - Diapositive

Use
- Past simple = iets in het verleden is gebeurd en het is duidelijk of belangrijk wanneer dat was.
- Precieze tijdsaanduiding in de zin, zoals: yesterday, last week, last month, a year ago, when I was in Paris, etc.
