When the world of books and TikTok come together, you get BookTok. BookTok is the niche side of the social media platform where readers recommend, review and theorize about their favorite books, authors and genres.

We'll now have a look at different YouTube reviews on Disgrace

Assignment

Your task is to create a 5-minute BookTok presentation in which you answer/ discuss the following questions.

 

1. Themes: Name and discuss at two themes from the book. Why are these themes important in the book?
2. Characters: Discuss the main characters of the novel: use the information from the 2nd lesson: is it a round / flat character? Name the character traits, did the main character evolve/ change throughout the book?
3. Reader Experience: Reflect on your own experience of reading "Disgrace." Discuss any emotional reactions, or surprises you encountered while reading the book (use the 3rd lesson).
4. Personal Development: Did the book change your view on the world / themes of the book? Use your writing assignment for this part
5.  Your audience consists of students that are the same age as you, your job is to make it appealing as possible! Make sure that your peers won't swipe throughout your video!

1. Be creative and have fun during your presentation, viewers can see if you are having fun
2. Use visuals and colours!
3. Speak clearly in the video
4. Use language that is easy to understand by someone your age.
5. Use all the bulletpoints from the previous slide.
