How to do this project?
  • Every Tuesday night, the new chapter will appear in Magister.Me
  • You do the chapters every week and hand it in ultimately a week later
  • Every chapter has a different topic!
  • Basic (mavo), medium (mavo+havo) and advanced assignments (vwo)

Today: activate some knowledge and share some facts about the British culture!

The beginning...
  • It's called Great Britain, because France also had the region 'Brittany' 
  • Albion = The White. The Romans came to Britain in the year 43. The white cliffs of Dover was called 'Albus'. 
  • The Romans called the island 'Britannia'
    which is where the name Britain comes 
    from!

  • Scotland & Wales & England = Great Britain
  • England is only the southern part, capital is London
  • Add Northern-Ireland and you have:
    "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern-Ireland"
  • Republic of Ireland is a whole different country
  • So the UK is made up of 4 nations
