slaves born within a household and slaves bought in slave markets or when paying debts.
  • Feudalism: Many slaves became serfs. A serf was unfree, you were not allowed to move or marry without the lord's permission.
  • New Age: In Europe, the slave trade was accepted, they believed that Europeans were superior. Slaves were bought in West Africa and transported to America. The products that were produced by slaves were brought to Europe (triangular trade)
