What is a student portfolio?

Every day, many lessons are shared with students, whether as homework or as reference material for a test. However, sharing lessons in LessonUp doesn't stop there.

You can also use a shared lesson as a perfect portfolio, where students can place materials they (or you) consider important to keep. This can be a subject-specific portfolio or a portfolio that is used across multiple grade levels.

How do I create a student portfolio?

In the following 17 slides you'll find an example portfolio for career orientation. Students can store documents and insights related to study and career choices in this portfolio.

Use the following slides as an example. You can decide how the portfolio will look.

Here are some ideas:

• Photo questions (students can upload screenshots of assignments and exercises)
  
• Poll (as part of several statements)
  
• Open question (what does the student think about something now and how will they think about it in a few years)

Distributing Lessons

The portfolio is best shared through a LessonUp class and the lesson modules. This ensures that the portfolio is always within reach of the students.

How do I distribute a lesson?

1. Go to My Classes and select the class in which you want to use a lesson module.
   
2. Go to the tab "Distributed Lessons."
   
3. Click on "Create a lesson module" and give the lesson module a name.
   
4. Click on the lesson module and click on "Add lesson."

Student's point of view

The students can always access the shared lessons from their own LessonUp environment through their portfolio. This ensures that the portfolio is always within reach of the students.

Reporting

Review the students' results by:

1. Go to "My Classes."
   
2. Select the class you want to view.
   
3. Click on "Lesson Results."
   
4. Click on the lesson for which you want to see the results.
   
5. Click on "Reporting" on the right-hand side.
   
6. Choose whether you want to view the reporting per class, lesson, or student.
