Time required: 5 minutes + 1 day for the assignment.

🏠 A Base Lesson as a Template

Maintaining a consistent style across your LessonUp lessons is key. It ensures your branding is cohesive, resonates with your audience, and builds recognition.

One way to achieve this is through your lesson materials. Start by creating a 'base lesson' that incorporates your logo, colours, images, and reusable components. Arrange everything in the correct place so you can easily include these slides in future lessons using the favourites feature.

💡 Tip: If you have different audiences or themes, duplicate your 'base lesson' to create multiple versions, each with its own distinctive colour scheme or style.

✅ What Should a Base Lesson Include?

Your base lesson contains all the slides you want to use more frequently. Here is a list of suggestions:
  • Title slide
  • Legend slide
  • Learning objectives slide
  • Informative slides
  • Slides with images (with or without hotspots)
  • Mind map
  • Quiz question
  • Open question
  • Photo question
  • Various drag-and-drop activities
  • Poll
  • Slide with spinner
  • Exit ticket (reviewing learning objectives)
  • Slide with logo
For further assistance with incorporating your branding into these slides, refer to the 'Layout' section of the LessonUp lesson plan.

💡 Tip: When designing the title slide, avoid placing the lesson title in the bottom-left corner behind the yellow banner. This is the first thing teachers see before opening your lesson, so position the title at the center, top-center, top-left, or top-right for visibility.
