Passive zie je vaak in handleidingen en instructies. 

Passive

We built a house - the house was built.

We are building a house - the house is being built.

We will build a house - the house will be built.

Pete eats an apple  - the apple is eaten. 

Pete has eaten an apple - the apple has been eaten. 

Pete is eating an apple - the apple is being eaten. 

Als een zin in de toekomende tijd staat, dan wordt de passive ook toekomend. Zelfde geldt voor verleden/voltooide tijd, duurvorm. 

Passive: explanation

Pete eats an apple.

Sophie is reading a book.

We build a machine.

They wrote a letter.

The company imported new equipment.

* prepare speaking exercises (9.2) ex 5 and exam     exercise (p. 45) and (9.3) ex 4, 5 and exam exercise     (p. 49-50). MAKE NOTES!!!
