RELATIVE PRONOUNS

Who, which, that, whose, whom, x, where, when

• Who: personen.
  "It was Madison who was so nice to me." 
• Which: dingen.
  "She sent me a reply which simply said 'OK'."
• That: personen en dingen.
  - Je mag who/which vervangen door that als er geen komma staat voor de bijzin.
  "The friend that/who lives next door to me is coming over."
  "The friend, who lives next door to me, is coming over."

• Whose: gebruik je voor personen/dingen om bezit aan te geven (van wie/wat).
  "The player, whose friends were all at the match, won."
• Whom: verwijst naar personen. Gebruiken DIRECT na een vz zoals to/for/by.
  - "This is the boy to whom I told my old bike."
• x: weglaten als het geen onderwerp is in de bijzin én er geen komma staat voor de bijzin.
  - "She's the football coach I admire the most."
  
  

• Where: plaatsen.
  "This is the house where I was born."
• When: tijden/wanneer.
  "It was a difficult time, when many people were hungry."
• Geen komma? Dan mag je when vervangen door that of helemaal weglaten.  
  "That was the day when/that/x we heard that Katy had won the prize."
