Sustainability in the Hospitality industry

Wat bedoelen we met werelddoelen/Global goals?

• 17 doelen om de wereld een betere plek te maken in 2030. 
• Afgesproken door landen die lid zijn van de Verenigde Naties. 
• Grote organisaties maar ook individuen konden ideeën inbrengen. Iedereen mocht er over meepraten.

De doelen betrekken alle landen ter wereld

Examples

• The alleviation of poverty and the potential role of global tourism.
• Maintaining a healthy nutritional diet and reducing food hunger.
  
• Developing awareness of culinary medicine and the benefits this can bring to developing communities.
• How to improve education provision in disadvantaged communities and how that helps global tourism.
• Creating new hospitality opportunities to drive economic growth
  
• Creative ways to reduce food waste and energy consumption.

Working in groups

• You will be assessed as a group and as individuals alike.
• Make sure that you are collaborating and contributing.
• Keep an open mind, be respectful, useful and thoughtful.

Ranking the 17 SDGs

Look again at the goals.  Think about which 5 you think are the most important for the world.  Rank them "1" to "5" (with "1" being most important and "5" least, and write your list (use the text of the SDG and not the number on the slide) in the slide that follows.
