I am taller than my sister.

My brother is the tallest of us three. 

My father's car is more expensive than my brother's car. 

But our uncle's car is the most expensive of the three. 

*Als een woord één lettergreep heeft; 

Krijg je bij een vergelijking - er than 

1. He is shorter than I am.  (short)

2. My father is taller than he is (tall)

3. Our new school building will be bigger than the old one. (big)

Bij de overtreffende trap (de grootste, kleinste, domste)

Gebruik je: 'the' + het bijv. naamw. + est 

1. That  actor is the shortest person I've ever seen! 

2. My uncle, who's 1.93 meter tall, is the tallest in our family. 

3.  The biggest school building I've seen so far is located in NY.
