*korte woorden eindigend op één klinker + één medeklinker: 

verdubbeling laatste letter     (run -> running)

Woorden eindigend op -e -> de -e vervalt

to live (wonen/leven) -> living

to move (verhuizen/bewegen) -> moving

Woorden eindigend op -ie -> -ying

to lie (liegen) -> lying   

to die (dood gaan) -> dying

Let op! haren verven is 'to dye' -> dyeing
