Use slang
Use jargon
Be too pushy
Wing it (do it without proper preparation or time to rehearse)
Lead with too much background
Forget to make your ask

Slide 8 - Video

The Hook
A solid introduction that states
  • who you are,
  • the value of your work, and
  • the impact you make.
Remain compelling:
  • Don’t overload your listener with information.
  • Don't water down your cause.

Slide 9 - Tekstslide

The body
Answers the following kind of questions:
  • What differentiates your cause from others in the same space?
  • How effective are your current programs?
  • Do you have any impact stories that are amazing?
  • How can someone get involved right now?
  • What are you preparing to accomplish in the future?

Slide 10 - Tekstslide

The wrap up
Bring everything home with a very specific ask.

Be sure you know exactly what you ask from your listener:
