A. Learning a language keeps your brain healthy. For adults who speak just one language, the average age for the first signs of dementia is 71.4. For adults who speak two or more languages, the average age for those first signs is 75.5.
B. Doing several things at the same time is very stressful for the brain. People who are multilingual are better at carrying out several activities at the same time.
C. It is a simple fact - the more you use your brain, the better it will function. To speak a new language, you must not only know vocabulary and grammar rules, but also be able to remember and use this knowledge. Multilingual people have brains that are fitter, making them quicker to remember names, instructions, facts and figures.
