It may surprise you to know....

Children aged 0-2 years are the most at risk from online abuse. 

The second highest category of risk involves young people aged 16-17 years old.

What does ‘provocative’ mean?

1. Installing antivirus software on your devices.
2. Using strong passwords to protect your accounts.
3. Engaging in behaviors that attract unwanted attention.
4. Avoiding sharing personal information online.

What can you do to stay safe online?

Staying safe online

• When and where you are meeting friends 
• Regular habits or routines e.g. when and where you walk your dog
  
  
   

• Think about the kinds of pictures or videos you post of yourself, your friends or family
  

• When using social network sites, make sure that you have set your privacy settings correctly
  

• Never agree to meet up in person with someone who you’ve only known on line without making safe arrangements
  

What do we mean by safe arrangements?

Safe arrangements.

Some examples are:

• Meeting during the day, in a safe public place. 
• Telling a friend where they are going. 
• Having a friend call them at an agreed time. 
• An SOS code word they can use to alert a friend. 
• Taking along a friend or trusted adult.

Why should you be careful about the information you post on social media?

Useful information.
