Angry penguins | attack | my sister.

Onderwerp (S)                       lijdend voorwerp (O)

1. Direct object (Lijdend voorwerp) moves to the front of the sentence, i.o.w. becomes the subject of the new sentence. 

2. Check in what tense the sentence is written, in order to determine the helping verb. 
Present tense: add  am / is / are | Past tense: add was / were

3. replace tghe main verb with its past participle

My sister is attacked (by angry penguins // by zombies).

1. Pupils throw paper balls at me.

--> Pupils are active: they throw the ball, the balls are passive, they are the direct object.

--> throw = present tense!

past participle: thrown

Passive: Paper balls are thrown at me (by pupils)

2. Pupils threw paper balls at me, but I kicked them out.

--> threw = past tense!

Passive: Paper balls were thrown at me.

Rewrite the sentence using a passive voice.

Somebody steals my chocolate.

The answer is:

My chocolate is stolen by somebody.

Rewrite the sentence using a passive voice.

Somebody kicks my cat.

The answer is:

My cat is kicked by someone.

Rewrite the sentence using the passive voice.

The team wins the championship every year.

The answer is:

The championship is won by the team every year.

Rewrite the sentence using the passive voice.

The author writes a best-selling novel.

The answer is:

A best-selling novel is written by the author.

Rewrite the sentence using the passive voice.

Penguins are attacking my sister.

The answer is:

My sister is being attacked by penguins.

Challenging! Rewrite the sentence using the passive voice.
Da Vinci was painting the Mona Lisa.

The answer is:

The Mona Lisa was being painted by Da Vinci.

The mechanic has not repaired the bicycle.

The answer is:

The bicycle has not been repaired.

I will not write the essay.

The answer is:

The essay will not be written by me.

The gardener plants new flowers every spring.

The answer is:

New flowers are planted by the gardener every spring.

The driver navigated through the city efficiently.

The answer is:

The city was navigated efficiently by the driver.

The musician had composed a beautiful symphony.

The answer is:

A beautiful symphony had been composed by the musician.
