The present continuous

He is reading.

She is walking.

Ted is cleaning.

They are baking (a cake) .

Wat is het?

Je gebruikt het om te zeggen dat iets nu aan de gang is.

Hoe maak je het?

He is drinking.

Wie	Am/are/is	+	werkwoord + ing
Jack	is		walk ing .
He	is		drink ing .

Bake

=> My mum is baking a pie.

! Let op ! 

Soms verandert de spelling als je -ing toevoegt. Bij een werkwoord dat eindigt op een -e, valt die -e weg.

Chat

=> Jack is chatting with a friend.

Run

=> I am running.

! Let op ! 

Bij werkwoorden van één lettergreep met een korte klinker (a, e, i, o, u) zoals stop, sit, run en chat, moet je de medeklinker verdubbelen.
