Future

Four types: to be going to, shall/will, present simple, present continuous

Present simple: volgens een schema -> the bus leaves at 7.00 p.m.

Present continous: voor dingen die gepland zijn en die vrijwel zeker gaan gebeuren -> we are having a party

Future: to be going to

To be going to + hele werkwoord: 

 - als het plan er al was vóór het gesprek -> Are you going to stay in the tent all day? 

- Bij een voorspelling die is gebaseerd op een aanwijzing -> Look at the clouds! It is going to rain.

Future: will/shall + hele ww

Will + hele ww:

- als het plan onstaat tijdens het gesprek -> Are you hungry? I will get you some food.

- bij een voorspelling die gebaseerd is op een mening -> I think this party will be great.

- bij een spontaan aanbod, weigeringen, beloftes, voorstellen of verzoeken -> I will carry your bag for you.

- bij feiten -> There will always be another day

- bij onzekerheid over de toekomst (in combinatie met bijvoorbeeld  I think, probably...) -> I think I will stay home today

Shall + hele ww: bij een voorstel in vraagvorm met I  of we als onderwerp -> Shall I open the door for you?
