Importance of Leaves

Leaves contain chlorophyll, which captures sunlight and gives plants their green color. They are the primary sites of photosynthesis.

Plants take in carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen during photosynthesis.

Water's Role

Water is absorbed by the roots and transported to the leaves where it is used in the photosynthetic process.
