Have to + infinitive

have to+ infinitive: obligations (verplichtingen van buitenaf opgelegd). Think about university, school, work, your parents, the government, the law.

Ex.: You have to pass the test to be considered for that university.

Ex.: You have to clean up your room if you want to get pocket money!

Modals (hulpwerkwoorden)

• Je gebruikt should (not) + infinitief als jij vindt dat iets eigenlijk (niet) zou moeten. 
• Je gebruikt must (not) + infintief als jij zelf vindt dat iets (niet) moet.
• Je gebruikt has to/ have to/ don't have to/ doesn't have to + infinitef om te zeggen dat iets moet van iemand anders of dat iets niet hoeft.
