Complete your outline thoughtfully to build a rough draft of the body paragraphs. Review the body paragraphs of your classmates by applying the T.E.X.A.S method while paying attention to structure, style, language and tone.

What does T.E.X.A.S refer to regarding paragraphing?

A TEXAS Paragraph

T - Topic Sentence: Answers the question in one short sentence.

E - Explanation: Explains the concept(s).

X - eXamples: Gives evidence that your answer is correct.

A - Ask Yourself: Read your paragraph: have you answered the question? [Don’t write anything; just proofread.] Then Add more Explanation or eXamples if you need to.

S - So What?: Why is your answer important?
