Why do ducks fly in this formation?

V-formation - why?

• To keep each other out of the wind/ to profit from the upward motion of air
• Cyclists do the same 

       - This reduces air resistance

• Exhaust gasses are pushed out at high speed
• Rocket pushes off against its own exhaust gasses.
