Learning goals:

- Define the three types of environmental problems 

-  Give examples from MEDCs and LEDCs for each type of environmental problem. 

- Define solutions to solve or minimalize environmental problems 

- Explain the meaning of the three environmental problems (degradation, pollution and depletion).

- What are possible solutions for these environmental problems?

Group assignment section 4.2.

You are working in groups of three. As an outcome you are going to make a presentation about the content of section 4.2.

1. Study (read) the information of section 4.2. in your coursebook.

2. Divide the three different types among the group members

3. Explain the different types of -tions in your own words in one sheet.

4. Also make a sheet with your own example (picture and text) of your -tion in the world.

5. Finish the assignments 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of section 4.2.

Section 4.3. Climate change

Learning goals:

1. Describe natural and human reasons of climate change 

2. Describe the difference between the natural greenhouse effect and the enhanced greenhouse effect 

3. State the most important greenhouse gases 

4. Explain the carbon cycle 

Climate change is nothing new; during the  history of the earth climates did change. Some era's were cooler and some were even warmer.

Climate change involves natural reasons but since the Industrial revolution also human interference.

Read page 101.

Identify three different natural reasons for climate change and explain the influence of humans on the climate.

The earth's temperature is rising, this climate change is caused by the enhanced greenhouse effect.

Take a look on figure 4.20.

Does the greenhouse effect has to do with the incoming sunlight or the emitted heat from the earth?
