Slide 8 - Open vraag

What is 'globalization'?
International exchange of goods, knowledge, information, cultures, etc.
Some examples of globalization include:
- Access to travel methods like global aviation
- Exchange students (minor abroad)
- Exchange of data over the internet

The last one mentioned has had the most intense impact.

Slide 9 - Tekstslide

What is problematic about 'globalization'?
An effect of globalization is that the gap has, in certain ways, been widened between 'western' and 'non-western' countries.
Some ways in which we can see this are:
- Low-wage workers in non-western countries producing our goods
- Multi-national corporations that have grown so large they have become more powerful than certain governments.
- Tax evasion has become easier, especially for the already rich and powerful.

Globalization is an aspect of western imperialism.
