I repetitively met the expectations of revision using SmartRevise
I used some aspects of Smartrevise regularly but not consistently
I only used it when my ATL was being flagged as 3 or less in order to raise my ATL
I rarely used it, despite poor ATL grading

Overcoming barriers
  • Use MS Teams to stay on top of work and meet deadlines
  • allocate time outside of school to complete work
  • Ask for help when stuck
  • Use school equipment if you don't have suitable at home
  • Be responsible for lessons you miss (email, teams)
  • Remind yourself of the benefits to doing well and give 100%
  • Always stay positive and look for the positives.

  • Meeting needs of the many (climate change, unemployment, simulation modelling etc...)
  • Advancements in healthcare (data mining)
  • Education (research, clouds, virtual learning, online courses)
  • Communication (social media, video calls, apps)
  •  Automation and AI (prediction, data analysis, cost saving, life saving in hazardous situations)
  • Problem solving - At the heart of CS is the ability to solve a problem, which is a life skill

  • Computing is often in top 5 most desirable degrees to take in UK
  • Jobs include - Scientists, Technicians, Instructors,  Consultants, Linguists, Designers, Administrators and Data analysts
  • Starting salaries range between 21-30k
  • Average salaries range between 45-65k (Over £25 per hour)
  • Top tier salary can be in excess of 80k
  • Over 80% employment rate post degree
  • Serious gender gap making it a greater prospect further for women
