Goals

• At the end of class we know what personal pronouns are.
• At the end of class we know how to use personal pronouns.
• At the end of class you have done exercise 2, 4, 5 & 6

What do you think a personal pronoun is?

What do we use them for?

We use personal pronouns instead of people, animals and things.

For example:

John rides his bike. - He rides his bike

The tigress hunts for food. - She hunts for food.

The car goes really fast. - It goes really fast.

2 forms 

The subject (onderwerp) form.

The object (voorwerp) form.

The subject form (Onderwerpsvorm)

You use this form if the personal pronoun is the subject of the sentence.

Singular (enkelvoud): I, you, he/she/it

Plural (meervoud): We, you, they.

Examples:(Voorbeelden)

1. I am smart.
2. You are very smart.
3. He/she/it is very smart.
4. We are very smart.
5. You are very smart.
6. They are very smart.

The object form (Voorwerpsvorm)

You use this form if the personal pronoun is the object in a sentence or after an article.

Lijdend voorwerp, meewerkend voorwerp of voorzetsel.

Singular (enkelvoud): Me, you , him/her/it.

Plural (meervoud): us, you, them.

Examples:(Voorbeelden)

1. Give it to me!
2. I will give it to you.
3. I will give it to him/her/it.
4. They gave it to us.
5. They gave it to you.
6. They gave it to them..

Are on the wall (the posters)
