The present perfect is often used to talk about the recent past and its relationship with the present.  - I've studied for the grammar test  and now I feel more confident.

We also use the present perfect to give recent news. 
Jenny has been on holiday.
Jenny's been on holiday.

When do we use the Present Perfect?
We use the Present Perfect to talk about past experiences that don't mention a time. - I have been to London. OR to talk about an event that  started in the past and still has relevance now.  I've just read your book.
