When do we use the Present Simple?

What happens to the verb (ww) when the subject(ow) is he/she/it?

The present simple

• We use the Present simple when talking about facts and habits.
• If it is a regular verb we add an S at the end of the verb when the subject of the sentence is he/she/it.

Exceptions:

• You add -es to verbs that end in -s, -x, -z, -ch or -sh when the subject of the sentence is he/she/it
• You add -es the verbs go and do when the subject of the sentence is he/she/it.

Exceptions:

• When the verb ends in Y you change the Y into -ies when the subject of the sentence is he/she/it.
  
  
• If the subject of the sentence is he/she/it and the verb ends in Y, but has an -a, -e, -e, -u, or -i in front of the Y you add an S to the end of the verb.
