Christopher Columbus

• Christopher Columbus was ordered by the Spanish king and queen to find a route westwards. Thus, Columbus sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492.
• After a month, Columbus found land, and thought he had arrived in the Indies.
• -->  Indigenous inhabitants: Indians.
• But he reached a New World, later called America.
