End of the Crusader States

• In 1291 the last Crusader city, Acre, was captured by a Muslim tribe called the Mamluks.
• The Mamluks fought against the Mongols.
• The Crusader States had allied with the Mongols...which was a mistake.
  

Effects

Economic:

• Venice and Genoa (Italy) became rich because the transported crusaders.
• Trade grew. New products were shipped to Europe.

Cultureral:

• Preserved knowledge from the Greek and Roman.
• Better medicine, hospitals, and knowledge of the human body.
