Armed conflict = Conflict in which more than 25 people die due to violence in that conflict.
Conflicts are classified as follows:
international conflicts (Second World War)
internal conflicts or civil wars: Rebels within a country fighting the government or each other.
internationalised conflicts (conflict in Syria)
