Questions
Als er een vorm van to be (am/is/are/was/were) in de zin staat mag je die vóóraan zetten om de zin vragend te maken:

There were a lot of people at the party.
Were there a lot of people at the party?

Questions with modal verbs
Can you come over to my place this weekend?
Will she pass her exams this year?
May I borrow your pen, please?
Could you open a window, please?
Should we answer all these questions?
Have you got any homework for tomorrow?

Questions
Als er een hulpwerkwoord (modal verb) in de zin staat mag je die ook vóóraan zetten om de zin vragend te maken:
examples of modal verbs:
can, could, will, would, may, might, must, should

Let op: have is ook een hulpwerkwoord als er got bij staat!

Negations
Achter een vorm van to be en modal verbs mag je het woordje not zetten. Vaak gebruik je dan de afkorting:

He can't come to the match on Saturday. 
We won't (will not) help you with that. 
There aren't any tomatoes left.

Tegenwoordige Tijd:
Present Simple = feiten en gewoontes
"I always walk to school."   "He never walks to school."
werkwoord / werkwoord + s (bij he/she/it)
Signaalworden: always, often, never, sometimes, every day, usually, seldom etc
Vraagzinnen: Do (of does bij he/she/it) + onderwerp+hele werkwoord. Voorbeeld > Do you think I can do this?
Ontkenning: Onderwerp + don't (of doesn't bij he/she/it). Voorbeeld > He doesn't know how to cook

Present continuous = nu bezig (aan het..)
"I am walking."    "He is walking."    "We are walking."
 am/is/are + werkwoord + ing
Signaalwoorden: (right) now, at the moment, look!
Vraagzinnen: am/are/is + onderwerp+ ww+ing. Voorbeeld> Is she sitting on the table?
Ontkenning: Onderwerp + am not/aren't/isn't + ww+ing. Voorbeeld> She isn't sitting on the table

Verleden Tijd:
Past Simple = verleden begonnen en afgelopen
"I walked to school."  "He ate his breakfast."
 werkwoord + ed   /   tweede rijtje bij onr. ww.   (blz. 153 tb)
Signaalwoorden: last night, a couple years ago, when I was 15 years old, in 1997, yesterday etc
Vraagzinnen: Did + onderwerp+ hele ww. Voorbeeld > Did you call her yesterday?
Ontkenningen: Onderwerp + didn't + hele ww. Voorbeeld > You didn't call her yesterday.

Voltooide Tijd:
Present Perfect: in verleden begonnen en nu nog zo (link met de tegenwoordige tijd). Ook als je over ervaringen praat. 
"I have walked to school."    "He has eaten his breakfast."
have/has + werkwoord + ed   /  derde rijtje bij onr. ww. (blz. 153)
Signaalwoorden: since, for, always, never, ever, yet, already, just, so far, up until now.
Vraagzinnen: Have/has (he/she/it) + onderwerp + ww(-ed of 3e rijtje). Has he eaten his breakfast?
Ontkenningen: Onderwerp + haven't/hasn't (he/she/it) + ww (-ed of 3e rijtje). He hasn't eaten his breakfast.

Toekomstige Tijd (1)
Will: iets aanbieden, belofte, besluit, voorspelling zonder bewijs
"I will walk to school."    "He will help you out."
will + hele werkwoord
Vraagzinnen: Will + onderwerp+ hele werkwoord. Voorbeeld > Will he help you out?
Ontkenningen: Onderwerp + won't + hele werkwoord. Voorbeeld > He won't help you out.
