Two- way conversation between candidates and examiner. This lasts for 2 minutes and you should be able to ask and answer personal questions. This part tests your ability to use general. interactional and social language.

You have one minute to talk about two out of three pictures you will be given. You need to answer 2 questions while comparing and speculating about the photo. This part lasts 4 minutes and tests your ability to describe, speculate, compare and comment during a longer and organised conversation.

I’m going to give each of you three pictures. I’d like you to talk about two of them on your own for about a minute, and also to answer a question briefly about your partner’s pictures.


(Candidate A), it’s your turn first. Here are your pictures. They show places in which food is prepared differently.

Part 3 (4 minutes)

Part 3 of the speaking exam is a two-way interaction between candidates and lasts 4 minutes. You discuss a problem solving task and are tested on your ability to interact, exchange ideas, express opinions, agree/disagree, evaluate and reach a decision.

Now, I’d like you to talk about something together for about two minutes.

Here are some different types of tasks you might be given as part of a job interview and a question for you to discuss.
