- 9 March = Assignment 1: Film -  see page 41 = on paper this week
- 23 March = Writing test: creative task related to poetry reader
- TW3 = Oral exam related to poetry reader - see page 41

> You need to hand in all the assignments and tasks from the Poetry reader when you take your oral exam, it will be part of your final grade.

Poetry Project
Learning goals:
Learn about literature: language functioning in war rhetoric, study poems, watch a movie and study literary terms, create your own poems and discuss them in groups.

What do you need to do?
  • Go through the reader and do the tasks (I will tell you  what to do and when). You need to hand everything in.
  • Read the War poems and analyse them using the glossary
  • Decide which poem is your favourite and why
  • Watch a film and write an opinion piece of 300 words
  • Write a poem using your new acquired knowledge
  • Oral exam in pairs about all of the above

Writing Test
Tuesday 23 March you will take a writing test (in class/Teams) > Magister 

It is a creative writing test where you will write a story.  
The inspiration for this story is the film you watched for the Poetry Project. 

You need to be able to use Adverb, Adjectives and Phrasal Verbs. 

It will be about 250 words.

Oral Exam
The oral exam will look like this:
- you are in a group of 4, it will take 30 minutes
- you will read your own poem and talk about it
- you will talk about the film you watched and give your opinion
- you will talk with each other about the poems in the reader
- ask each other questions

Note: Make sure every member of your group talks about the same amount.
! Everyone is graded individually !

Study: poetry booklet
> know style figures (poetic devices) = see glossary
> study info on pages 14, 15, 16, 17
> study & explain all poems
> write your own poem, on conflict/war = read it at the exam and explain

> Practice in your groups, you have to lead the conversation together, on your own!

Create a Poem
The topic: Conflict

You can take an instance from your own life OR write from the perspective of a soldier at war. This can be any conflict, like WWI or a current conflict in the world. Ask yourself: What would that be like from their point of view?

Criteria: 
> It needs to be at least four stanzas
> You need to use at least five style figures from the poetry glossary.

There is plenty to do: 
- Make groups of four (one group of three) for your Oral Exam
- Choose 2 moments in the schedule
- Work on your poem about conflict
- Finish Poetry Project assignments
