Cohesion and adhesion

Cohesion 

Molecules of the same substance attract each other

- round shaped area 

- e.g. the attraction between water molecules forming a droplet

Adhesion

Attractive forces between molecules of different substances.

The result is a hollow area

Temperature and movement

The higher the temperature the faster the particles move. 

If they move faste enough then they can escape.

Boiling

The process by which evaporation occurs anywhere in the liquid.
