Fish are an important part of the worlds ecosystem. They provide nutrients for both people  and for other mammals  such as  polar bears and sea otters.
Note: Did you know that about 8 million tons of fish is eaten yearly in japan. That's a lot of fish!

Fish are not just important for those outside of the ocean though, they are also important for the things that are living in it!

Fish are an important source of food for many of the animals that live in the ocean and provide nutrients that keep the natural aquatic food chain cycle growing and flourishing.

Not only that, their waste provides nutrients for the plants that they're around such as algae and sea grass. This further contributes to the oceans natural nutrient cycle.
