A Strange Night

Regular verbs -> verb+ed.                    walk->walked
Irregular verbs -> 3rd form                   eat->ate                   

Is used when something happened in the past and is finished:
TIP: Look for a time indication in the past

"My dad and I watched football last Sunday."
"I drank some milk this morning."

Past continuous
Was/were + (verb+ing)            walk -> was walking

When something was going on at a specific moment in the past.
TIP: often something is interrupted                   "I was walking when I fell"


"He was sleeping when I arrived."
"We were gaming when my dad was cooking."

Past perfect
regalar verbs ->       had + verb-ed                              I had walked
Irregular verbs->     had + 3rd form                            I had eaten

When something happened before another event in the past.

"When he arrived at the train station the train had left."
"I had lost my bike key so I decided to walk home."
