1. There are many types of baked goods. They include various breads. French bread, Italian bread, baguettes, hoagie rolls (pisolet) and rye breads are some examples. Baked goods also include breakfast items, such as muffins, donuts, bear claws, and Danishes. Many baked goods are eaten as desserts. These include cakes, cupcakes, fritters, brownies, cookies, and strudels. Nearly every country has baked goods that are particular to its food culture. For example, strudel and rye bread come from Germany. Baguettes are French.
2. There are several steps involved in baking bread. First, gather the ingredients. These include flour, yeast, water, and salt. Next, combine the ingredients and let them settle, preferably overnight. After that, take what is now dough out of the bowl and knead it. Place the dough in an oiled baking pan. Bake the bread in an oven set to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (204 degrees Celsius). Watch it rise and brown. When you think it's ready, stick a toothpick into it. If the toothpick comes out clean, the bread is ready. Take it out of the oven and let it cool.
