Met het werkwoord 'to be'

Wanneer gebruik je een question tag?

Aangeplakte vragen gebruik je om bevestiging te vragen. Je kent het ook wel in het Nederlands, denk maar aan: 

We gaan morgenochtend al weg, toch? 

Heb je zin om daarheen te gaan, of niet? 

Jij bent daar nooit geweest, of wel?

Hoe maak je een QT?

• Je herhaalt het onderwerp en het werkwoord, maar dan omgedraaid.
• Je gebruikt 'not' voor of achter de komma.

They aren't home, are they?

They are help us, aren't they?

Let op!

Je gebruikt hetzelfde persoonlijk voornaamwoord als in de zin, óf je gebruikt het p.vnw. dat bij de naam/het woord hoort:

Sam and John are fast, aren't they? 
The dog isn't sick, is it?

Frankie doesn't like ice cream, does she?

Let op!

Een belangrijke uitzondering is 'I am'.

Bij een bevestigende zin gebruik je 'aren't I' als tag. Bij een ontkennende zin gebruik je gewoon 'am I'.

I'm late, aren't I?

I'm not too early, am I?
