What	Past simple
When	To say that something happened in the past and you know a time/day/date.
How/Form	Add –ed OR an irregular form.
Signal words	Yesterday, last week, last month, two days ago, four days ago, months ago, a second ago, etc.
Examples	He walked her home last night. I talked to him on the phone yesterday. She tried to close her book but a fly got caught in between the pages.

What is the difference between these sentences?
A. I have worked here since 2016.
B: I worked here in 2016

When	An action that started in the past and continues up to the present or has a result in the present.
How/Form	have / has + past participle* * (regular verbs: infinitive + ed, irregular verbs: 3rd column)
Signal words	just, yet, (n)ever, already, for, since
Examples	He walked her home last night. I talked to him on the phone yesterday. She tried to close her book but a fly got caught in between the pages.
