Lets Learn to Count on our Fingers!

Today we will be learning to count to 10 on our fingers.

Imagine you picked every apple from this apple tree. Count how many apples are on the tree!

Here I would have students try just so I can see what they know.

How many animals are on this slide?

        =

How many flowers do you see?

Ask students how  many blue flowers they see

Ask students how many pink flowers they see

How many different colors are there

Counting Strategies

There are 6 different strategies listed to the side that we can use when counting

1. count out loud
2. touch and count
3. move and count
4. line up and count
5. count on 
6. recount

Here I would go over all the the different strategies. I would demonstrate each one to the students and have them do it with me.
