What's a tag?

Question-tag
A small question added to a sentence.
You use it to ask for conformation.

In Dutch we would say: 'of niet' or 'toch'

Tag questions
positive sentence = negative tag



negative sentence = positive tag

She isn't happy, is she?

Tag questions appear at the end  of a sentence. 
use it: -to ask someone's opinion 
-to ask for confirmation 

Example:
She is very nice, isn't she?
Zij is erg aardig, toch?

1. Repeat the form of 'to be' (am/are/is)  
If the sentence is positive (+), the tag question becomes negative (-)     
If the sentence is negative (-), the tag question becomes positive (+)    

(+) Lisa  is late for school, isn't  she?  (-) 
       (-)  Lisa  isn't  late for school, is  she? (+)

Here are some more examples with 'to be'
(+)  You are  often chilling with your friends, aren't  you? (-)

(-) My friends and I  aren't  doing our homework, are we? (+) 

(+) Your grandmother  is  very sweet, isn't she? (-)
